We have started off 2019 with a bang! Over the past 7 years we have used a Toyota T-100, Chevy Astro Van, Toyota Highlander, and Honda Odyssey to move furniture. Each one was helpful in its own way but we have never had a vehicle that perfectly suited out cargo hauling needs. On December 31st we picked up a 2017 Ford Transit T-250. It seems to be just what we needed to take things to the next level. The very next day I was able to head out and pick up a 12 piece dining room set. It all fit in the van very comfortably.
We also welcomed in the new year by completing our first caning project. Although we have upholstered hundreds of pieces of furniture we had never done any cane repair. This project was a real learning experience. By the time I finished the eighth chair back I felt like I finally understood all of the techniques involved. It is great to have acquired a new restoration skill.
This fun find is a step away from modern and towards Hollywood regency. There is a growing trend of mixing modern and Hollywood regency design. We are looking forward to incorporating more glamorous piece with our modern furniture if we can find more like this one.
Our big upholstery project over the last couple weeks was this pair of Scandinavian lounge chairs. We upholstered them in a pine green fabric that feels right at home in the Pacific Northwest.
